Brimonidine / Timolol

How is this medication used?

Use the medication as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Typically, it is applied in the affected eye(s) once or twice daily. Ensure your hands are clean before use. Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pouch and instill the prescribed amount of drops. Close the eye gently and press on the inner corner of the eye for about a minute to prevent the solution from draining away. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects may include eye redness, burning sensation, temporary blurred vision, or a feeling of having something in your eye. More serious side effects include slow or irregular heartbeat, fainting, severe dizziness, or increased shortness of breath. If any of these occur, seek medical attention immediately.

What are the potential interactions?

Interactions may occur when used with other eye medications or systemic beta-blockers, medications affecting heart rate, antidepressants, or antihypertensive drugs.
