How is this medication used?

Take the prescribed dose once daily with breakfast, swallowing the tablet whole. Your doctor may adjust the dose gradually based on your blood sugar readings. Do not skip meals while taking this medication, as this increases the risk of low blood sugar.

What are the possible side effects?

The most common side effect is hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), which can cause shakiness, sweating, dizziness, and confusion. Other side effects may include nausea, abdominal pain, headache, and skin reactions.

What are the potential interactions?

Other diabetes medications, alcohol, certain antibiotics (such as sulfonamides), and NSAIDs can increase the risk of low blood sugar. Corticosteroids and some diuretics may raise blood sugar and reduce its effectiveness. Tell your doctor about all medications you take.
