Trimbow is a triple-therapy inhaler combining beclometasone (a corticosteroid), formoterol (a long-acting beta2-agonist), and glycopyrronium (a long-acting muscarinic antagonist). It is used for maintenance treatment of moderate to severe COPD and, in some countries, asthma, reducing airway inflammation and keeping airways open.

How is this medication used?

Inhale two puffs twice daily, morning and evening, at the same times each day. Use it every day even when you feel well, as it is a maintenance treatment and not a rescue inhaler. Rinse your mouth with water after each use to reduce the risk of oral thrush.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects include oral thrush, hoarseness, dry mouth, headache, muscle cramps, and an increased heart rate. Pneumonia risk may be increased in COPD patients using inhaled corticosteroids; report worsening breathing symptoms to your doctor.

What are the potential interactions?

Beta-blockers can oppose the formoterol component, while other beta-agonist or anticholinergic medications can add to its effects. Certain drugs, including some antidepressants and drugs that prolong the QT interval, may increase the risk of heart rhythm effects. Tell your doctor about all medications you take.
